Song Of The Month

Crazy Over You

2025 – January

This cover song was written by Jerry Lynn Williams. The video was created from clips of a home movie recorded at The Barn in July 2003. At this time Al Sutton was the lead singer in the band. We had previously recorded the song live in our studio, which we used for the audio. No overdubs were added. This video synchronization is the best we could do with the limited video we have.

In August 2003 Al was assaulted and spent over two months in the hospital. He is lucky and glad to be alive, but will never completely recover from the injuries he suffered. One vocal cord is still paralyzed, but Al has persevered and learned to speak and sing with just one. So far this is our only video featuring Al on lead vocals.

Mel Little was still playing keyboards with the Sutton Brothers during this period.

Midnight Train

This song was written by Buddy Guy and released on his album Heavy Love in 1998. It featured Johnny Lang on guitar and vocals. We love to play the blues and this song has a great groove. Live at The Barn May10, 2008.

Fly Like An Eagle

2024 – November

This song was recorded live at The Barn. It was written by Steve Miller and released in 1976 on the Steve Miller Band’s album, also titled Fly Like An Eagle. Tim Nunn used a Roland Space Echo on the guitar solos. This machine used a tape loop to produce echo effects, before the days of digital recording and effects. Live at The Barn New Year’s Eve 2010.

Love Is All You Need

Tim Nunn got the idea of writing a song about the Beatles, realizing that it had been 60 years since they appeared on The Ed Sullivan show. Once he had the idea, the song wrote itself! The whole band never seems to tire of hearing their songs and playing them. It’s fun every time! Thanks to The Beatles for inspiring us and countless other musicians and fans, and changing the world for the better.
